Mark different parts of a one series line in different colors / colours. Please help!

Hi there,

Please help, this coursework is due tomorrow!

There must be a way to mark different parts of a line in different colours in Mac Excel 2008. I have a series with x-values of time and y-values of heart rate. I need to have the line between 0-300 in red for resting, 300-600 in blue and 600-900 in green. But they are all part of the same series, so I seem to only be able to colour the whole line rather than different segments.

Thanks,

Try making each part of the like a different series, if you play around with that, you can get them to line up perfectly
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you

Thanks for your advice guys. Any more suggestions please keep them coming! I was hoping not to have to get into changing the different series so that they lined up - may be unavoidable - but the charts are complicated enough as it is!

What is conditional formatting?

Can you think of other ways of selecting different regions of the graph? I was thinking perhaps I could draw a coloured square behind each segment, with the line on top, but can't figure out if this is possible!

Many thanks for the advice, please keep em coming!

Not sure CF will work for changing colors on different parts of a line in a graph
