    Vertical Line in Column Chart

    Hello,

Can somebody teach me how to make the vertical line like this (together with the label)?
I have the column graph as shown in the attachment. But I having difficulty in making the straight line and the label.
As far as I know, the label of the straight line (LLC, HLC) only can be done manually, that is, create a textbox and put it at the graph. Is there any alternative way to do it so that the label and straight line can be generated automatically when i define the value for the vertical line?

    Hi,

I also second your opinion, these are manually created lines with text box label at top. Thanks.

    Yes..

Since you are using Excel 2007 -> Go to Insert -> Shapes -> Lines

Oh i think you get the wrong meaning. What I want to do is, making the straight line as a part of my graph format.
Therefore if my vertical value changes, the straight line will be shift left or right accordingly. This cannot be done by inserting line onto the graph manually. If I did it as you suggest, once there is a change in either axis or data, the "inserted straight line" will not be accurate anymore.

Re: Vertical Line in Column Chart

    Hi,

The solution is create two columns which are labelled as LLC and HLC
The value in these columns would be calculated and constant and plot them in existing graph as new series

    Hope this solves the problem

Oh thanks. I just found another way of doing it by creating error bars. Anyway thanks for the suggestion.
