Hello,
This may seem 'wordy' but I think a thorough explanation will get me the best results.
I am working with a prospect list and the data available to me is broken up into one piece of info per report. Specifically I have a list of names with date of birth (DOB), a list of addresses (this isn't really a list; it's actually a report for printing mailing labels... ugh), a list of names with phone #, and a list of names with a lead creation date. All are valuable, but to view these pieces of data at once is only possible when viewing one record at a time. All of this data has been copy/pasted from a website. My goal is to compile a list with all this data so I can disperse the prospect list to numerous callers and efficiently process these leads. The problem is that not every list is the same; i.e. not every lead has an address, or phone #, or DOB. So I cannot simply copy and past because each list does not line up exactly.
My solution is to use the LOOKUP function to copy the applicable data to the appropriate record. I have been successful at compiling the DOB, Ph#, and lead creation date. However, I cannot get the LOOKUP to work for the addresses. I assume this is because the table needs alteration before I can perform a LOOKUP on it.
The addresses come in a single column that has the name, address, and city stacked up on top of the next record:(. So I must manipulate the column of data so that name, address, and city are in three different columns. Then I use the LOOKUP function to try and copy the addresses to the main table that has names, DOB, etc. When I do this the function displays the data for the record just above the correct record (I even used the same column for the result_vector as the Lookup_vector to test it and it's the same). The Lookup_vector range is in ascending order. If I perform the LOOKUP function within the table the addresses come from get result I am looking for; it is only when I try to bring the data into the main table I have the problem.
This is a long complicate question, but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me.
Sorry about the title... It was late and I didn't read the rules:(
Thank You
