Find and Replace in selected cells only

I have been trying to do a find and replace on selected cells only, but it seems to replace in the entire sheet, although not consistently. Can't quite seem to nail down when it does the whole sheet and when it just does the selected cells. Any suggestions on ensuring that replace only takes place on selected cells?
    Thanks
    David

    Hmmm....never thought of that.

    Are the highlight cells Noncontiguous?

Note: I guess that doesn't matter, I just tried to replicate the problem and can't.
Although it has happened to me on occasion.
