    Daily Schedule chart (time duration)

    Hi,

I think this is a trivial problem, but I can't seem to get it to work.

I am trying to make a chart of a schedule for an event to see who has signed up for what time slots. The event goes from 8am to noon. People have signed up to volunteer some amount of time in that range.

For example, Person A can volunteer from 8:15am-9:00am.

I would like the graph to have the time range (8-noon) on the X-axis and their name on the Y-axis. The amount of time they are volunteering (45minutes) would then span the X-axis.

This is one of those things that take 2 seconds to draw by hand but I haven't figured out how to do it in Excel. I've tried bar and line graphs and the closest I've gotten is having the 8-noon appear on the X-axis, but then it only puts a point at 0.45 on the Y-axis (or draws a line from 0.45 at 8am and goes down to 0 at 9am). I set the X-axis to be Time, the Y-axis set to number.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Hi Earthweek,

    Welcome to the forum.

could you provide a sample data alongwith a chart (just the drawing) which you wanted to see as the final outcome. Thanks.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the quick replies!

The line graph isn't exactly what I had in mind, but it certainly is in the right direction. Attached is a rough sketch of what I was thinking.

    Hi
Is the number of persons are fixed or not. If not fixed what is the frequency of changing (after how much time it may change).

There is a method but it is more suitable for fixed persons or you have to do some changes

Would you like to see this?

    Regards
