Collect data from one worksheet and present on another.

    Hi,
I want to make my data more human readable. I need to present my data on a worksheet where I have filtered out some columns.

I have attached a file to better explain how I want it to look. Can anyone tell me where to start or just point me in the right direction.

Is the 2nd sheet your expected output sheet?

Yes it is, I would like to populate the second sheet with the data from the first.

Are there chances of having more than 1 IP for a server? If yes, what should be done?

Lets go with that, a server can only have one ip.

Also on what basis should it be segregated into 2 sections? Can the output be in just 3 continuous rows?

It could be, but I think that it would be more presentable in the way that it looks on the second sheet. If it is to be on rows, it has to be grouped by location.

    Hi there,

Try a macro like this, it should get the job done

It may be me, but I can't see any logic behind the way the data is represented in sheet 2 in relation to the raw data in sheet 1.

Why is that more "human readable"? I think the colour scheme makes it virtually unreadable.

can you explain your logic, please? Why are the entries in the rows shown?

I think the easiest way to get the data into three rows, as Arlette has suggested, is to sort the raw data by location and then Copy | Paste Special | Transpose into a new sheet.

    Format to taste.

Ok, this is a simple version. The real file contains way more information, which makes it hard to read. But I am truly open for suggestions. :D

Re: Collect data from one worksheet and present on another.

That will replicate the way you proposed to view it, but as TMShucks stated, there could be an easier way to view everything.

with that macro it should be duplicating the formating of the first 3 rows into all other rows. so you can change it to what you like.
