Excel 2010. Formula help please. Call billing.

    Hi

I am new and have done a search but cannot find anything that exactly helps me.

I need to set up a spreadsheet that works out costs for re billing purposes. We get billed by our supplier and then we bill our customers at a higher rate.

I have the call duration in hh:mm:ss and I have the cost per minute.

Here are a couple of the rows from this month.

    Destination Duration Cost p/m
    Premium 00:04:52 £0.075
    National 00:39:41 £0.010
    Local 00:08:22 £0.010
    02 Mobile 00:00:16 £0.075

What formula can I use to work out the costs? My mind has gone blank and everything I am trying doesn't work!

Any help will be muchly appreciated!

If your duration starts in B2, and cost p/m in C2 then in D2 try:

    =C2*B2*1440

Where 1440 is the number of minutes in a day, because even though Excel is displaying that info as mm:ss, it's actually storing it as a fractional part of a day.

    That's great thanks.

I kept missing the 1440 off.
