    Hyperlink problem

So I have a list of text hyperlinks that I need to convert to being real hyperlinks (about 700 of them).

The fastest way to convert them seems to be to double click in the middle of the string and then hit enter. thats one by one though and I have 700 on this file.

    Things that have failed:

Changing the generally formatted column to text, and then back to general
    Doing data text to columns
Selecting them all and hitting enter
Saving the column as a csv, then reopening it in excel (and then saving it as an xls also doesn't cause a bulk conversion).

They are definitely valid html and do convert to a link if I double click in the middle of the string and hit enter.

    is the format.

I could have sworn I found a fast way to do this a few weeks ago but nothing I've been trying has worked! help!

Edit: also failed importing the data from the csv.

    Hi scantron,

Can you attach an example sheet. It would help me reach a solution more quicker and accurate.

Click the small star icon at the bottom left of my post.

    Hi
If you text is all in 1 column, have you tried running the HYPERLINK function alongside your list? For example.

    =HYPERLINK(A1)

    Run down column B

DBY, that works but it seems to require leaving the first column in the spreadsheet. what I ultimately did was find this macro.

You do have to specifically select only the cells you want, to use it though, selecting the whole column will crash excel.

Yes I see the problem, should have thought of that. Glad you found a solution. VBA to the rescue.
