Allow group/ungroup functionality in xls worksheet that is protected.

Dear All,
I have an xls file that will be used by many users. There is a macros inside + different formulas.
Worksheet is protected and during that protection I place a tick only in field: "Allow all users to of this worksheet to" - "Select unlocked cels"l

In order to save some space I grouped and hidden some lines which I would like users in case of a need to expand. So I have this "+" button on the sheet. Unfortunatelly when sheet is protected pressing "+" does not work and I get a message that worksheet in protected.

I searched in internet and there are many solution proposed but none of them is working. I tried 5-6 different codes but no success. Xls still gives me the same message.
Please help me. I must do something wrong. My xls version is 2007.

Just a thought but have you tried including in your macro a command to unprotect the sheet and then unhide the rows. How did you intend the rows to be hidden again after accessing the hidden rows? Were you hoping that users would hide them again?

Macro is very simple (a button that is clearing the content of a table) and user even might not use it.
The main function in xls is :
*user is populating data in partucular column
*through formula xls is calculationg some parameters.

There are 3 tables on the sheet and each of them is having 4 lines for data entry. Those 4 lines will be enough in 90 % of the cases.
in the rest 10 % user will press button "+" and will expand the hiddedn rows.
the Sheet is protected and those columns where we have a folrmula are locked and user cannot select them at all.
So how to make group/ungroup functionality working. So when user needs extra rows just to pres the "+" and gets them?

So what you are really asking for is to be able to add rows to allow for extra data input by users.

I can't help with that but you really should post a workbook so that we can see the problem first hand. Take out sensitive/confidential data.

Update your profile to 2007.

Please help me to enable the group/ungroup function. You will notice alredy grouped raws ("+").
I want pressing of "+" to expand the rows and the sheet still to be protected.
