Excel 2007 : Cut & paste function stopped working - no idea why!

I use excel 2007 and have never had a problem with it until now. Suddenly I am unable to cut and paste any cells or rows or columns. It's strange, the dotted lines that normally should show up around a selection that you choose to cut or copy either do not show up or show up for a split second and then disappear. I have tried using the right click, ctrl commands, menu buttons, and drag/drop, but nothing seems to work properly. Any ideas why or more importantly how to fix it?

Okay, revision to this...I CAN use the drag and drop method, but it's not very convenient for what I'm doing so would like to get the other methods working again. Also, when I did the drag and drop, it came up with an error message: Cannot Empty Clipboard. Another mystery.

Not sure if this is whats causing your problem, but lots of people have a problem with 2007 if they are/have used skype. it seems to cause conflicts in the wierdest places. If you have skype loaded/running, stop it, reload excel and see if that fixes your problems?

I think its just the browser plug in Skype Click to Call. Not Skype itself.

Ha! Brilliant! Thank you both - that turned out to be the problem. I uninstalled the Skype Click to Call (which I have never used anyway) and voila - my cut and paste functions are working as they should. Wonderful - thank you for your help!
