Search a list and count unique instances and match

Helloo---

I have a list of broker/dealers, now I know how to remove duplicates and get a unique list (fairly simple in excel 2010)

but i want to do a count - which i know how to do too with countif or counta

but then so i have # aggregate per unique entry- i want to compare that list(the aggregates of uniques) with another list(say broker dealers -by definition)..and get a tally or count - of those which exist compared with my list(broker-dealer def.list)

How do I accomplish this?
I put together a small snipit of my file (its huge and has hundreds of funds and hundreds thousands of entries of broker dealers)broker example for forum.xlsx

You could use VLOOKUP - see column H in the attachment.
