I have recently moved from Office 2003 to 2007 and am suffering from many different problems. With time I have solved most of them but I am yet to believe that there is any improvment in Excel 2007.
One that I have not solved , however, concerns opening new workbooks.
I have a template workbook that I want to open every time I create a new workbook. This is stored in XLStart and when I open Excel this is the book that opens - so far so good.
In 2003 when I wanted a new workbook whiel within Excel, I pressed Contol-n and got the book that I wanted. Now, in 2007, when I open a new workbook in the same way, I get a default 3 sheet workbook which is not what I want.
I know that I can save a template to Templates and gain access to this via New from the big round button at the top and then open a template, but this is 3 times clumsier.
I would like to know how I can get back to what I had before rather than have to waste time with mice and menus.
Can anyone help, please?
