    Exclamation Crunching down years 2001 2002 2003 2005 to 2001 - 2005

Hello Everyone. I tried searching for this topic ,but no luck. Well hope someone can help me out. I have 1,187 rows. I'm going to provide an example of what my rows looks like:

    Volvo C30 2008 2009 2010 2011 2012
    Volvo C70 Convertible 1998 1999 2000 2001 2002 2003 2004
    Volvo C70 Convertible 2006 2007 2008 2009 2010

My task is to crunch down the years to look like the following:

    Volvo C30 2008 - 2012
    Volvo C70 Convertible 1998 - 2004
    Volvo C70 Convertible 2006 - 2010

I've been doing it manually so far by deleting the numbers in between and just keeping to the first year and last year. Is there a macro , script, or formula I can use to have this process automated for me? Any input from anybody would be helpful.

    Thanks in advance.

Do you want the crunch down in one column, i.e. "2008 - 2012" in one column?

Also is the description for the vehicle separated into different columns? "Volvo" in A, "C70" in B, "Convertible" in C?

Thank you for your response. Correct I want to go from 2008 2009 2010 2011 2012 and crunch it down to 2008 - 2012 in one column.

Marcol and ZealotAssasin. Marcol Book 2 is exactly what I wanted. The formula works to a limit ,but its a good foundation. I appreciate your expertise.

Best of luck, these problems are seldom solved with a single, simple, formula.

    P.S. Just scrapped a Volvo 740SE 2000cc injection (1990)
