    Excel percentages

I have a spreadsheet that I need to automatically change the values in according to percentages. How can I do this? For instance, for the first six months it may be 30%. How can I change the percentage and automatically change the column values?

    Gloria,

Could you please explain a little further, I am not sure if i totally understand your question. Are you changing the percentage and your other values in the column need to pivot off of it?

Yes, that is what I'm trying to say. In other words, once the percentage is changed, the whole column will reflect it.

    Re: Excel percentages

All you have to do is create a formula in the column that you want to change, that includes the percentage cell (example cell B1). once you change the percentage, the rest of the column should change. This formula could be anything that you need. I could give you the formula if i knew excactly what it is you are trying to accomplish.

you should be able to attach it too this thread and i can open and view it. When your replying, select go advanced and near the bottom there is a button "Manage Attatchments". Add your file to that then upload it.

Ok. I have attached it. I want to be able to change .30% to .50 or whatever and the "Bad Debt Expense" column automatically changes also. I attached it to the e-mail I got. Can you access it from there?

I am not sure how to access it from there. What you need to do, is "Go Advanced" when you reply to me. Then "Manage Attachments" and attach it from there. If you have done this successfully, you should see if on the bottom of your reply after you submit it.

    Re: Excel percentages

Okay, all you need to do here is in your formula in cell F7, if you want to keep the .5 you can, not sure why your using it. Just click on the cell and in the formal box at the top of the screen click at the end of the formula and type *F4, then hit F4 on your keyboard and you should see dollar amounts around F4 in the formula bar. go ahead and click on any other cell to get out of the formula bar, then click back on F7 and you will see a little black box at the bottom of the cell. All you have to do is to double left click that black box and the formula will copy down to the bottom of your data in the column. From there you should be able to change cell F4 to anything you want and the colum will change with it. I have attached my it with my fix on it. I just left the .5 in the formula because i wasnt sure if you were using it and the .3 or just the .3
