Anyway to save a current sort for speadsheet?

We currently have a document that is in no specific order and would like to be able to save it's current state. We wish to sort it by a certain criteria, and then afterwards, revert it back to the previous non-specific ordered state. Is there anyway of accomplishing this?

You could create a copy of the worksheet. R-click the tab < select move or copy < check box for create a copy < select where you want it placed < rename it. Then you can sort it without damaging your original data. Keep it? Discard it? Your original is safe.

Well the whole point is to organize it so we can edit some of the data in it. If I just create a copy, none of the data would get changed. We have to edit it, and then return it to a customer and would like to leave it in it's original order.

Have you tried converting it to a Table? You can sort it from any field, and still enter data.

add another column ,number down 1 to end
you can then always sort by this column to put back in original order
this is providing you sort the whole thing at the same time
