Status reporting formula using a date range & % completion

    Hi,

I want to create a status reporting color coded view for each activity using a date range & the percentage of work completed.

    Data Sample Sheet Attached.

    Columns Needed in Reporting sheet:

    1. Milestone - comes from milestone of data tab
    2. Status - calculated (i'll manage this one)
    3. Weekly status - Calculated via color coding

here is where i need help:

    3. Weekly status:

In the Reporting tab, I want to show the status using color coding as described by the legend under the table. For every week I would like to show the current status based on data from the "Data" tab.

    Data Tab formula to use:

    A. Actual start date - actual end date= total days
    B. Calculate number of days completed of total days by current date
    C. Calculate completed percentage as per given activity (Analyze 10%, Design 15%, implement 60%, etc.) vs. Completed days of task
    D. Calculate status of completed % of activity vs. the actual % of time used for the overall activity
    E. Days extended using the planned vs. actual start date & planned vs. actual end date.

I believe all these formulas should give me the result I need. We need to club these to figure out where we stand in terms of each Line item.

Please feel free to suggest any easier way of getting status reporting using all dates, percentages going by the legend.

    1-3 days behind - yellow
    3+ days behind - red
    <0 days behind - green

Re: Status reporting formula using a date range & % completion

Is there a "how to" question in there somewhere?
    Forum Rules
Please read and adhere to these simple rules!
    1. Use concise, accurate thread titles. Your post title should describe your problem, not your anticipated solution. Use terms appropriate to a Google search. Poor thread titles, like Please Help, Urgent, Need Help, Formula Problem, Code Problem, and Need Advice will be addressed according to the OP's experience in the forum: If you have less than 10 posts, expect (and respond to) a request to change your thread title. If you have 10 or more posts, expect your post to be locked, so you can start a new thread with an appropriate title.

To change the title of the thread, click EDIT on the original post, then click the Go Advanced button, then change the title. If two or more days have passed, the EDIT button will not appear, and you need to ask a moderator to change the title.
Want to get your question answered quickly?
Ensure your question is not too vague.
Be descriptive and concise. Short, direct, and to-the-point questions with apt thread titles are almost always answered promptly.
Keep the scope reasonably narrow. Questions like, "How do I set up an accounting system in Excel?" might be a long time waiting.
Explain what you've already tried. ("Calculation is set to automatic, but formulas still don't compute") so helpers don't waste your time or theirs.
