    Data migration Help

I hope you all can help me, I am a network administrator who has been tasked with an excel project.

I have a workbook made up of several pages. 1 page for each client. One of the rows on each page is "Date Entered." I would like to add a page that will display each clients last 5 days of entries. This page will then be exported to a word document for a daily status report.

I usually have pretty decent google-foo but no joy on this. I know very little about actually USING a computer once I have it connected to a network, so if someone could give me the solution with as little jargon as possible, I would greatly apreciate it.

    Thank you for your time.

    That looks to be perfect!

I assume I replace "CLIENT_1" with the actual name of my sheets? I will try this and see if I can make it work.

Thank you so much for your assistance.

Sorry, the last file I uploaded seems to have some loopholes... Please refer to the newly attached for the improved version.

Forgot to mention, but you can also adjust the days of history to display by changing the value (#) in the "Displaying Entries from last # Days"

By the way, there is still this error that if your client does not have a single record within the last # days, the result will display as error..
i.e. Displaying Results from last 5 days, but then the client does not have a single record for the last 5 days...

Please do reply if this is a situation that you have to avoid and I will do something about it.

And yes, simply change the tab name of your clients and the tab referred to by the formula will follow.

This is working, of course I have a lot of entries to change. I do have one possible issue. In my form, each entry occupies it's own row, each client starts below the previous. IE Client 1 starts at row 4 and client 2 starts at row 15, or wherever the entries end. Is it possible to set the follow on clients to start after the previous or do you recomend just alloting 20 or so rows per client. Whichever option is best is fine, you have already helped me get leagues further than I was before. I will litterally save hours per week with this solution.

I afraid it will be really bulky if you want the client info to follow one after another (at least w/o GBA), and... I dont really know GBA
I can try if you really want it that way though...

I suggest that you estimate from previous data on how many rows are usually needed to display your desired result, and leave that number of rows with some allowance as you have mentioned above.
Also exactly the reason why I placed them side by side in the sample (since I don't know the number of rows you required)

Alternatively, you may want to seek help from other users for a better solution.

Glad that I can be of help to some extent.

    Re: Data migration Help

Thanks again for the help. The reason it would be beneficial is that one of the cells, the fifth comumn, is notes describing the entry and is about half the width of the screen. Of course, I may be able to sort that out by exporting the data into word. Does anyone know if I can export data from specific cells into word or does it have to be an entire row?

    Thanks again,
    Ron
