Counting cells if both columns show matching ref numbers.

    Please see attached.

I need to create a formula that shows yes or no if column c and d both match. So with this example e3, e4, e5 should show yes and e6 should say no.

    Can this be done?

    Many thanks.

if you can do with TRUE / FALSE, you can use:

    =EXACT(C3,D3)

    or just: =C3=D3

or, if you are particular about "yes" / "no", you can wrap either of the above around an IF statement like:

    =if(EXACT(C3,D3),"yes","no")

CSE, aka Array aka { }, formulae are confirmed with CONTROL+SHIFT+ENTER.
Replace commas ( , ) with semicolons ( ; ) in formulae, if your locale setting demands.
All good ideas are courtesy resources from this forum as well as others around the web.

    Hi

    You can try this too:

    =IF(C3=D3,"YES","NO")
Click *, if my suggestion helps you. Have a good day!!
