Gray out cells until user makes input

How did they do this??? (attached)

On "Inputs" sheet the user can change the quantity from 0 to any number and then the rest of the table becomes available.
Can someone please describe how this is achieved? There doesn't seem to be any code in the VB editor that makes this happen.

If you don't have a solution on hand could you please tell me what some good google search words would be?

    Thank you!

*I had to upload as a zip file because the excel file was slightly greater than 1mb and I wanted to keep everything complete

    Hello there,

This is achieved through conditional formatting. If you go to the review tab on the main excel menu and unprotect the sheet then you can go to the Home tab and select conditional formatting. Select the This Worksheet option from the Show formatting rule for box to view all conditional formatting.

Hi jbeeball and welcome on board!

Rvasquez was absolutely right, it is done with conditional formating which looks like this:

If cell D16 is equal to 0, grey out (it is paterned in fact) the range E16:I16. If cell D16 is more than 0, default formatting is applied.

    Is that clear enough mate?

Yes! thank you both very much - I thought it was a formatting condition but I am only familiar with formulas and vb. This was great and you both were very helpful.
    Thank you again!
