Can you highlight cells both above and below the average in Excel?

I want to highlight cells both above and below a daily sales average however I can only seem to highlight below average or above average, not both.

    Hi there,

Welcome to the forum. I'm working with 2007 and presume 2010 is not radically different in this respect.

Select your range - Cond Formatting - Top/Bottom rules - Above average - Select desired fill - Ok and then repeat for Below ave with a different fill option.

If this doesn't work please upload a sample of your workbook.
If I helped, please don't forget to add to my reputation. (click on the star below the post)

If the problem is solved, please: Select Thread Tools (on top of your 1st post) -> Mark this thread as Solved.

Failure is not falling down but refusing to get up.

    See if this workbook helps

Do you need to disregard blanks?

A sample of your workbook would help immensely.
