Conditional sumation question
Hi all,
Just starting out with Excel's formulas and had a question. Say I have a this arrangement looking like this, with a budget in column A and the fiscal year in column B.
A B
30 12
30 13
25 13
30 12
40 12
How would I add up only the numbers in column A that were in FY 12? Many thanks.
=sumproduct(--(b:b=12),a:a)

sumproduct for a simple sumif?
=SUMIF(B1:B5,12,A1:A5)
besides which you cant use whole ranges eg b:b in sumproduct pre excel 2007
