Trying to turn table of data into a chart with a filter

    Good afternoon Excel Forum!!

I have a table that in column "A" contains part numbers, row 1 contains that months. The table shows the number of devices that came in for the month. I would like to create a line graph with a drop down button that will allow you to choose which part to look at the in the graph.

    1) Can this be done?

    2) Can a macro be created to do this in the future for the next months report?

I have attached a worksheet with the data I am using. Take a gander and I look forward to everyone's ideas and solutions.

    Thanks!!!!

Turn your data into a table and base the chart on the table.
You can then filter column A and new data will extend the table.

    Andy,

Can you give me an example? From the table created, can you create a drop down filter on a chart from this table so it shows just that item? I'm a little new with using the table features of Excel so would greatly appreciate examples I could play with to learn the process.

    Thanks,
    Dan

    Andy,

I played around with the table and was able to create a table and then create a pivot table and chart with slicer. Is there a way to do this same thing but with a drop down button?

Can you not use the dropdown on the column?

    Andy,

I didn't want to show the data table. I was able to play around with a few things and figured out how to create the chart with the drop down button I was looking for.

    Thanks for you help!!!
