Can't COPY and PASTE from one EXCEL file to another

I have Office 2003. I tried copying data, 20 Rows X 6 Columns, from one EXCEL file to paste into another Excel file. When I go to paste the data in the second file "Paste" is grayed out.

I have also saved the first file where I need the data from as a .txt Tab Delimited file but even then when I try to copy from the .txt file and paste into the second file "Paste" is grayed out.

I tried Copying and Pasting just one cell only of the first .xls file but "Paste" is still grayed out.

Is this an Excel problem or a clipboard (Windows) problem?

I noticed that the 2 Excel files were saved as 2 different versions so I made them the same latest version and closed both files, and then reopened the files, but the same problem occurs, even with one instance only of Excel being open.

It MAY be that the Skype Click to Call browser plugin is messing up your clipboard. If you have that plugin disable/uninstall it (or close your browser while working with Excel). You can get the newer version of the plugin here: http://blogs.skype.com/garage/2012/0...ix_for_of.html

The Skype To Call was the problem.
That feature must now be the default since i just updated Skype but wasn't asked to add it in as an option.
