    SUBSTITUTION Formula problem

I am trying to do something similar, but i am having troubles. I have a cell that has "WL" and I want the cell next to it to substitute all of the "W" for "L" and "L" for "W" so it would appear as "LW". How would I go about doing this. The formula i tried looks like this with J44 being the cell that says WL... =SUBSTITUTE(SUBSTITUTE(J44,"L","W",),"W","L") Thanks in advance!

    Re: SUBSTITUTION Formula problem

    Hi Dompoma,

Perhaps add an intermediate substitute like so:

    =SUBSTITUTE(SUBSTITUTE(SUBSTITUTE(A1,"W","B"),"L","W"),"B","L")

    Convert W's to B's, then L's to W's, then B's to L's.
