Excel 2000 and 2010 recating differently

Hello

I am using 2 versions of Excel on 2 laptops for work. One has 2010 the other 2000. I am using only columns a and b on both machines. The other cells are locked. I have both sheets set up to tab over then down. This works correctly with the 2010 version both with the bar code scanner and the tab key. On the 2000 version, it works with the tab key, but when I scan labels, it always puts the cursor below what I have scanned instead of to the right of it.
