I do hope someone can help me. I want to extract three (non-adjacent) columns of data to a new table. It's for an election game that someone has asked me to do. It's best if I explain as below. My first column of data is a list of the names of the wards or constituencies. My second column is the winner of that ward - which is determined by an IF function to the numerical results in other columns. The third column is the percentage majority of that ward. Each of those columns has conditional formatting that turns them red or blue according to the winner of the seat. I want to create a table automatically elsewhere in the worksheet that collects those three columns and ranks them in descending order of majority for one party and continuing with ascending order of majority for the second party; and I want to keep or apply the same conditional formatting.
I have spent days trying to work out how to do this. I can create a macro (I've downloaded a trial version of Excel 2011 just to see if that can help me better) to produce my table but I can't incorporate the conditional formatting in the macro.
Can someone help and explain to me in really idiot-easy steps - because I am not an expert (as you will probably have gathered...). I attach an extract from my sheet. Column A are my wards; column K are my winners and column N are my majorities.
Many thanks.
Andrew
