Cluster PC's for complex excel models

    Hi,

I have an excel file which takes hours to calculate as it contains many different formulas accross over 350 sheets. I know some people will crtise the model but it is built now and I need to use it in this format if possible.

I noticed online that Excel 2010 has the function which enables calculations to be shared across multiple PC’s – is this correct? If so does anyone know of any companys that offer this service?

Do I need to set the spreadsheet out in a set format?

    Regards

    Paul

Here's a good blog post on the subject which mentions the API that you need: http://blogs.office.com/b/microsoft-...c-cluster.aspx
    and there's a whitepaper here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl....aspx?id=21238

You'd need to redesign your application anyway to create cluster UDFs, which I think have to be in XLLs.

Like I said, as far as I know you need to redesign the model to use cluster capable UDFs - you can't simply run any old workbook on a cluster.
