How to pick up the numbers from the data but not duplicate them by formula?

    Hi Excel Wizards,

I want to count how many sales we have made from different prices. E.g. in the attached spreadsheet, it shows that 1 sale is made by $20 and 2 sales are made by $40.

However, how to use the formula to pick up the sales $amount without duplicate them (red colored)?

    Thanks

Hello and welcome to the forum,

I'm sorry but I don't even understand what you mean. Can you work out an example or two for us? Obviously you know Countif, so what are you after Sumif? I'm not sure exactly from your brief description.

Re: How to pick up the numbers from the data but not duplicate them by formula?

    Hi
Column A is the sales we have made, in that example, there are 15 sales in total with different prices (e.g. $100, $200).
What I want is how to use the formula to tell us, in column A, we have sales for 1@$20, 2@$40, 3@100 etc.
    Thanks

How about this with a pivot table.

    Awesome,

I was stuck in the formula and didn't think of the pivot table. Thank you very much Jeff

You are most welcome. Just remember on a PT, if you update your data the PT does not automatically update; rather, right click on the PT on refresh.

    Hi kleevin,

To expand on Jeff's answer. You can also get the total of sales along with counts. See attached.
