Working with Sums & Dates

Hi I am wondering if someone can help me with using dates and sums?

I have a spreadsheet which controls work moving through a process (Column P to X)

Cell A1 contains =Today() and cell F5 contains date the parts arrived on-site, P4:X4 contains
cumulative number of days duration for each process and dates in P5:X5 are dates when
parts to be completed in each process stage.

The dates work fine but I want to conditionally format the date in P5:X5 if it is equal
or less that A1 (today())

The cells in P5:X5 show the sum only of the cumulative days so the conditional format
doesn't work!

Please help if possible.

It would be more helpful if you could attach a sample workbook, so we can play about with some formulae. You can't do very much with a picture other than look at it.
