Made big error importing text file with dates

I imported many text file to excel for example one column has date formated in the text file itself as 080911 which is August 9, 2011

My problem is when I imported to excel the leading zero's are droped is there a way to correct without importing all the files again.

80911 when I format as date results in 7-10-2121.

the lengths are all the same 6 character.

All I had to do was format to general and text-to-column works like a charm
