Need help on Calculating the Percent Ulilization

Hi guys,
I have this dilemma which I’ve been thinking about it for a long time but still not able to figure out. This sound simple but complicated actually (at least for me) so please bear with me. I’ll explain better in the file but this is a brief:

I have 10 stores and I want to calculate the percent of utilization monthly. I give you the time (date and time) of Start/End of each visit for each store. I want the percent of utilization populated on the summary sheet (=hours of visit/total hours of that month *100%)

However I get a different result.

For Store 4 in March I see a total visited hours of 31.833, being cells D40:D41, E39:E41, = 31.8333 divided by the 744 hours in March which equates to 4.28% utilisation.

Thank for reply. Please look out: Store 4 is used from 3/2/12@20:50 to 3/7/@3:30 so total will be

18.5 + 3.5 (for 3/1)
2.5 + 3.17 (for 3/2/12)
24 hrs (for each 3/3,3/4,3/5,3/6)
3.5 (for 3/7)


that will make 128 hrs for Store 4/March/2012

The difficulty here is that we have to count the time when the visit is going from day to day, month to month and we need to put the hours in the right month.

I really need help or just give me some idea...
