Splitting columns and hiding lines when printing when printing?

I have two questions. Splitting columns and hiding rows when printing.

In Excel I have a cheet with two columns of text and aboud 500 rows. These coulmns are not very wide, so when printing, I would like the long coulums to split to be able to fill out the A4-paper when printing, with four of these column-pairs next to each other. I tried to illustrate my question in the attatched picture. How can I do this?
I cannot just split them myself and place them next to each other since the number of rows will not be constant. Sometimed I want to hide some of the rows so that they will not be displayed when I print, how do I hide some rows?

So my main question is, how do i make Excel to automaticly fill out an A4-paper with my coulmns when printing, regardless of how many rows I have?

Than you very much for your help.

You know, a picture may paint a thousand words but it's pretty useless when it comes to providing a solution to a problem.

Do you want a VBA solution?
Do you want blank columns between the four pairs of columns?
    If yes, narrow or wide?
Do you want this to be automatic when you choose Print?
Or do you want a button to press?

If the answer to the first question is "no", the rest are irrelevant as I don't know of a way of doing this.

most printers have page layout options, I did not printed it myself but you can try and let us know. Go to your printer's properties and chose 4-up or 4 sheets in a page, or whatever your printer calls it.

to hide rows, select them, right-click on them and click on "Hide".

If there isn't another way, yes.

Do you want blank columns between the four pairs of columns?
    Yes

    If yes, narrow or wide?
    Rather narrow, about 5 milimeters.

Do you want this to be automatic when you choose Print?
Or do you want a button to press?
I want to be able to make digital documents with this format too, pdf's. A button would be great if it was possible to restore it afterwards.

    Thank you, TMS.
