Hello Everyone,
I have a table, let's say A1:E10. Column A contains a number. If columns B - E contain a number that is more than 5% of this, I'd like them to be highlighted (I'd like B1 to be compared to A1, and B2 compared to A2, and E1 compared to A1, E2 to A2 ...etc). I was able to use conditional formating, using the greater than feature a put "=a1*.05" and this would work for the first row (row 1). However, when I copy and paste the formating down to, say, row 2 it is still referencing a1. Furthermore, if I change the number in a1 the formating doesn't change. This lead me to discover that purhaps it is using something like a static calculation taking a1*.05 and inserting that number in it's place - meaning it doesn't matter what a1 is going forward, the cells will be colored based on this one time rule. I can get around this by inserting a column that does the "a1*.05" and then the formula is no longer static (but would like to avoid this if possible). Regardless though, when I copy and paste formating (using the little paint brush in the top left) it seems to keep referencing a1!
I'm admittedly not good with excel, and am hoping this is actually something that is easy to do.
Help!
