Wink Automatically Displaying Information on Foot Notes

    Dear All,

My boss at work has asked me to devise a way so each time an Excel file is saved, it is automatically saved with
    - The File/Path name
    - User Initials
    - Today's date
In the footnotes section of each file.

I Googled for hours for this and found Macros that did would put the file/path name into the bottom of an Excel file,
But no matter how much I look, I can't seem to find what my boss is asking me to do.

    HELP!

I would really appreciate it if some Excel genius could kindly advise me how to do something like this, or point me to the right direction.
Thank you very much in advance.

    Kind Regards

Hey, Thanks for the quick response.
My apologies for asking such absolute beginner questions!
I am really new to Excel and just picking all this up along work so kindly excuse my ignorance.

What I want is a way for the File Path/Name and Today's date to appear AUTOMATICALLY in the footer section,
Everytime I open an Excel file.

    Is that even possible?

    Thanks again!

    Oh no problem .....

Just go on Page Layout--> then Click Print Title --> Now header / footer tab -->cutom footer --> here u ll see three section left, center and right. you will also see small icon and you can see their details by taking your cursoe there.
    Hope you got it !

then i will guide you how to put macro to write user initial in footer or you can write it manually if you are the one who will work on that file.
