    Formating a Hyperlink Screentip

    Hi,

I wish to use a hyperlink to get a screen tip to appear when the cursor hovers above the link. However I wish to have quite a long text and I therefore need to format the text that is supposed to be displayed in the screen tip, very simple formatting like adding a new row and such, does anyone know how to to this? Do I need to VBA program it (I haven't programmed functions in VBA before)?

The reason for using a hyperlink, to get the screen tip (which is really what I am after) is since I think it gives the best looking result and I have seen it, so I know that it's possible.

    Thank you for your help.

    Hello there,

    Try the below code

Please Login or Register to view this content.
To insert the code in you worksheet

    1.Press Alt+F8 on your keyboard
2.Clear the macro name box and type HyperScreenTip in the blank box provided
    3.Select the Create option
4.In between the Sub HyperScreenTip() and End Sub copy and paste one of the options I have provided above.
5.Exit out of the Visual Basic Window
6.Press Alt+F8 again and this time select the HyperScreenTip macro
    7.Select Run

Just an FYI the (1) references the first hyperlink in your worksheet so if you have more than one you will need to change it.
Let me know if this works for you.

    Re: Formating a Hyperlink Screentip

    Hi,

I tried with a comment, and tried to format the comment to make it look better, however, I want to avoid the arrow and red triangle that comes with a comment. It messes up the look of my spreadsheet and unfortunately in the instance, it looks a bit unprofessional.

Usually I would use a comment, but I need a little bit more this time.

    Thanks!
