    Preparing for Mail Merge (Labels)

    Hi.

I was sent an Excel Spreadsheet with over a thousand names on it. I need to make address labels from this spreadsheet. The problem I have is that each name is on a row, not in columns, and there don't appear to be fields other than comma separated values, some separated by more than one comma. There are a lot of demographics on the line that I don't need, such as birth date, etc.
I need to be able to get rid of everything except the name and address and then get it in the proper form to merge with Word and make labels. I've read everywhere I can on the Web, and I don't seem to be able the answer. I've tried many things, but none have worked.

I would really appreciate your help with this!

I'm sure if you had provided a sample worksheet you would have received some help. Get something attached and see what happens. Also, need to define, if it's not clear, what data you want on for the merge.

Thanks very much for the advice. I will do that next time I have a question. I did end up figuring it out by myself!
