looking at 3 cells and choosing the highest to use in a sum

Hello All,

example is

e1 has £1000


f1 has £250 g2 has £400 h1 has £300


now i want cell j1 to look at cells f1-h1 and find the biggest number then minus this number from cell E1 to give my result.
