Adding 2 numbers from a single cell

Is it possible to "read 2 numbers" and add them together? For example, if I had the information "12-23" in a single cell, is there a way of adding the two numbers and showing the result in a separate cell?
    Many thanks.

Assuming your 2 numbers are in A1, separated by a hyphen, then you can do this:

    Formula: copy to clipboard

    Hope this helps.
