    reversing signals in excel

    HI,
I have this list - XXXXXXXXXX
I want to reverse it in different modes -
    1 : means keep signal
    0 : means reverse

A reverse means X is converted into Y or Y is converted into X.

So if I had 1101101101 for XXXXXXXXXX,
    The return is XXYXXYXXYX.

And if I had 1010101010 for XXXXXXXXXX,
    The return is XYXYXYXYXY.

Can anyone show me how I program this rule in excel?

    Hi,

Assuming you mean those strings of 1s and 0s are all in one cell then

    =SUBSTITUTE(SUBSTITUTE(A1,"0","Y"),"1","X")

    @ schill2

Based on your last post it seems that you are satisfied with the solution(s) you've received but you haven't marked your thread as SOLVED. I'll do that for you now but please keep in mind for your future threads that Rule #9 requires you to do that yourself. If your problem has not been solved you can use Thread Tools (located above your first post) and choose "Mark this thread as unsolved".
    Thanks.
