Making a cell behave like a text box

I'm having a problem when I'm typing in a cell. Not sure how to get a return sweep like I would get if I typed within a text box. When I want to start a new paragraph and hit return, the cell below becomes the active.

I could put a text box in each cell, but there has to be an easier way. Already have formatted with text wrap, but that doesn't fix the return sweep problem.

    Suggestions appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Rob

Don't hit "return" ( the ENTER key); hit ALT-ENTER

    Hi Rob

If you have Excel 2010 (might be the same with Excel 2007)
File (Home) - Options - Advanced. Under "Editing Options" remove the check for "After Pressing Enter, move Selection".
Remember, this is a global change.
