How to change the colour of tabs for sheets selected

    Hi
The default colour for the tabs for sheets selected (white) and deselected (light grey) is so similar I am forever changing the data in multiple sheets because I don't notice I have more than one sheet selected
I appreciate I can right click on the tab for individual sheets and change the colour but is there some way of globally changing the colour of the tab for sheets selected to a different colour so that it is much clearer when I have more than one sheet selected
    Many thanks
    Jack

Left click on the first sheet; Shift and left click the last sheet; right click; tab color; pick a colour

@TMS I think he's talking about the color that tabs turn when you select them as a group. The default is selected sheet tabs turn white. I don't think I've ever been able to find an easy way to change that color (of currently selected sheets).

Maybe it's buried in the themes somewhere...

Thought he just wanted to change the colours so he could more easily differentiate. Wouldn't have thought it mattered if it was the tab(s) selected or the tab(s) not selected.

No doubt he will tell us

Re: How to change the colour of tabs for sheets selected

    Thanks for your replies
Sorry if my query wasn't crystal clear
My problem is that selected sheets and non-selected sheets by default have very similar coloured tabs
If I print out a number of sheets and notice a typo on one sheet I so often forget to deselect multiple sheets and select just one before making the edit
I would like it if the contrast between the tabs sheets selected and those not selected was much more apparent
With my poorly lit office I have to look hard to see which are light grey and which are white before I do any work.
I hope that helps you to understand my post
Many thanks, it really is appreciated

Re: How to change the colour of tabs for sheets selected

Sorry, I should have added, I have 5 pc's that myself and my colleagues work on, we create 3 or 4 new excel spread sheets each day. I can make the change locally on the spread sheet I am working on but I would like to know if I can make the change globally

Re: How to change the colour of tabs for sheets selected

You can use the suggestion in post #2 to change the normal color of tabs to something darker.

You can go into your Themes and change the default color scheme so no workbooks use this darker color by default.

Wouldn't a Workbook_SheetChange macro that detects how many sheets are selected and warns you with a message and then ungroups them be better?

    Then it's fail safe.
