    Adding formula to an already created formula

    Currently example of formula 1 =IF(COUNTIF(Sheet 1!D:D,Sheet1!C5)=1,"NEEDS 2B REMOVED!","") and i would like it to combine with another formula 2 =IF(E3=1,"Inactive","Active").

    what im looking to do is have a cell populated based off each of these formulas... so basically im looking for if formula 1 is true and formula 2 is true then have "Needs 2B Removed!" and "Blank" if false.

    Please feel free to change around formulas and if i havent explained it well enough ill try again.

    Not sure where your Active/Inactive flag will be, but I think this is basically what you're asking for. If not, please upload a smaple file with examples of what you want the reasults to be under various circumstances.

    @bentleybob: my thoughts exactly.

    Are you saying, if the "COUNTIF(Sheet 1!D:D,Sheet1!C5)=1" and E3=1 (Inactive) then the comment is "Needs 2B Removed"? Otherwise blank.

    If so, I think bentleybob has it in a nutshell.

    No worries. Thanks for the rep. I feel a bit of a fraud because bentleybob did the work.
