Custom formulas with icons in conditional formatting in Excel 2010

Is it possible in Excel 2010 to use custom formulas with icon sets? When I click the Use a formula to determine which cells to format under edit rule, it switches off icon sets and starts showing the color ranges dialog, where my choices go back to formatting cells with color, which is not what I want. I have found ways to use workarounds in a neighboring cell to set conditional formatting with formulas and icons, but what I really want is the icon set / formula connection, right out of the box -- not with workarounds. Thanks for your answers.

No, you can not. You can change the "Type" in the Icon Sets from "Percent" to Formula which then allows you to type in formulas but they still have the criteria <= or >= that formula and it doesn't allow relative references so I've never found it to be useful.

Thanks for your answer. It's what I thought, but I might have missed something.
