So I'm building this budget spreadsheet for some folks at work and the spreadsheet has to lock to keep the formulas intact. However, the other users need some flexibility in editing the sheet so I don't have to basically manage their spreadsheet all the time. THAT SAID, I created a custom keyboard shortcut for insert rows which does not work when the sheet is protected. I can right click on the Row # and manually add rows but I can't use the shortcut. Also, I've already made sure that nearly all cells are unlocked, the ones containing the formula are locked.

I selected this option because the insert rows function seemed to be the only one that kept the formulas intact. If I selected multiple rows and "insert copied cells/rows/whatever," the formula wouldn't update. (it's just a simple sum formula but that number is tied to several other cells in different worksheets so it needs to be consistent)

Am I overthinking this? Please help this overworked soul.
