    Finding earliest date/time

    Good Morning all,

I know you guys will be able to solve this in about 30 seconds flat so here goes.

I have a list of arrival times for my engineers in format "dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm"

The arrival times span weeks. I need to find the earliest arrival time for each day.

I have tried using the "min" function with if statement but not working.

I think the problem may be that the data is imported to excel and each cell's contents are for example .... ="kjkjcvkj bd v"

ok so the problem.. find earlliest time of arrival for each day of the month.

    Help!!

Put this array* formula in H2:

    Formula: copy to clipboard

format as time, then copy down. If you don't want to see 00:00:00 for those days where you do not have dates, you can apply conditional formatting to the cells such that if they contain zero then use a white foreground colour.

    * An array formula must be committed using the key combination of Ctrl-Shift-Enter, rather than the usual <Enter>

    Hope this helps.

    Pete

Don't know what you've done wrong. The attached workbook shows what it should look like - did you remember to use Ctrl-Shift-Enter to commit the formula?

    Hope this helps.
