I need help matching part numbers and combing duplicate vehicle applications

I have a very complex issues with a spreadsheet. I have spreadsheets 1 and 2 attached as a link. I need to get the vehicle applications on sheet one to match the part numbers on sheet two. There are two different columns of part numbers, because they are two different pricing sheets. The trick is, the part numbers on sheet one have x's where the letters for the compound should be. For example, the part number on page one will read HB649x.605 with that part number being available in F, Z, U, G, W compounds. In the part listings on page two, the letters are present for the particular compound of brake pad, so the numbers on page two will read something like this HB649F.605 with "F" being the compound letter for that part number. In worksheet 1 there are columns with "Performance Pads", "OES Pads", and "Rotors" for both front and rear. How can I get the application as well as the description of front, rear, of each part in the appopriate columns on sheet 2? There are also multiple vehicles that a certain part number will fit, I would like to combine those vehicles for each single part number. Thanks in advance for helping me with this monsterous tasks. I am no way near advance enough in Excel to accomplish this job. I have attached the file in XLS format, thanks again.

    Hi

Can you update your example file with a fully worked example output and explain exactly how that output was achieved, what came from where etc.

Hey rylo, I updated the file where the information came from, I think there are 5 sheets in the file. You will notice that the Applications section for this file is much larger, that is because I reduced it to make things easier. I hope this explains things a bit better, thank you.

    Hi

Still unclear exactly what you want to put where, and howt it gets there.

Go back to the original example file (worksheet...xlsx). You have 2 sheets. Sheet 1 has a heap of data, while sheet2 has some part numbers. The way I read your post you want to bring data from sheet1 into sheet2. Is that correct?

If so, then exactly what do you want to bring into sheet2, where does it come from on sheet1, and why was it selected.

If that isn't right, then give a before and after, and full explanation of the process.

Re: I need help matching part numbers and combing duplicate vehicle applications

Hey rylo, I updated a spreadsheet with the things I want transfered to the part numbers on sheet 2. I highlighted the top of the columns with the order of transfer. If a column to the right has a part number that matches sheet 2, the #1 and #2 transfers for the part number need to match the part numbers on sheet 2. The actual vehicles the brakes fit is #1 and the columns to the left of the part numbers are #2 for each part number. The major problem is there are more than one vehicle per part number and different performancecompound codes. For example for part number HB649x.605 on sheet 2 there are two numbers for that one, HB649F.605 and HB649Z.605 with the "F" and "Z" being the performance compound codes. So basically the HB649x.605 is a number without a performance compound code. However, sheet #2 actually has the compound codes, so what I am looking to do is move the Transfer #1 (vehicle application) and transfer #2 stating what the part is to the left of each specific column into the appropriate part numbers on sheet #2. I know this is confusing and I apologize. Thanks for all your help, rylo

    Hi

I guess I'm not being clear enough here. Can you update the example file by updating sheet3 with all the items from sheet2, but also include (say for 5 items) how it should be when completed. I want to know exactly where in sheet2 you want to paste the data. What column is it going to. Why was it put there....
