Using the 'calculated' function, can I divide an item by a field when using a pivot table?

    Hi guys,

I am trying to achieve something with my data which means I need to divide an item by a field name, do you know if this is possible? If so, please tell me how!

    Thank you for your time

    Cheers

    Hello,
not sure if I get your point..you can't divide number by word (like 3/elephant), but if field name is number then just "=value/'cell adress'"

Hi, thanks for your comments, to clarify,

There are numerical values in both the sets of data. I want to divide data in an 'item' over data contained in a 'field' - It's no problem dividing item by item or field by another field, but can you tell me how to divide an item by a field?

    Thanks

    Will
