Conditionally separating thousands of rows of data into multiple other worksheets

    Hi,

I received a file that contains approximately 5,000 rows of data. I need to separate out the rows of data into additional worksheets based on how they're coded, and there are 50 different codes. While I can sort/filter the data so that I can manually cut/paste it to separate sheets, I'm looking for something that can speed that process up. So, does anyone know how I could do this?

I've looked through some previous similar questions, and it looked like all of those really only applied with a situation where it was coded either A or B and only applied on a fairly small scale. Sorry if I missed one that would clear this situation up for me.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi

Do the sheets already exist? Are the codes the same name as the output sheets? If not, where is the translation table to convert the code to the relevant output sheet? Is there only going to be one set of data per code? Or do you need to get a unique list of codes from the data?

Easy enough to do with a macro, so put up an example file for reveiw.

    >Do the sheets already exist?

Not in a named fashion. Just the default Sheet1, etc.

    >Are the codes the same name as the output sheets?

Not initially. I could manually make each new sheet and name it the same as the code, but again, trying to cut down on the time invested as I'll have to do it on a regular basis. Also, I don't need the sheets to have a specific name for the further analysis I'll be doing with them, so if it's not required for the macro, it's not something I would need to do anyway.

    >If not, where is the translation table to convert the code to the relevant output sheet?

I'm not entirely clear on what you mean, but the data is given to me in this format. I have no control over how it's obtained or sorted into the sheet that's presented to me.

    >Is there only going to be one set of data per code? Or do you need to get a unique list of codes from the data?

Again, not entirely clear what you mean. I've attached an example file (with identifying information altered) for you to look at. Thank you for your help, and please let me know if there's anything more I can answer/provide.
