    VLOOKUP doesn't work for me

I have a table in sheet 1 with a list of ingredients (column 1) and prices (column 2)
I want to make many sheets with recipes and the cost of each ingredient.
My question is how can I type a list of ingredients in sheets 2,3,4 etc and the price will automatically be inserted next to each ingredient?
I have tried using VLOOKUP but it doesn't seem to work for me. PLEASE HELP!

    Re: Help!!!

VLOOKUP would work perfectly for what you are trying to do. I'm pretty sure that you'll be visited by a Moderator pretty soon to request that you change the title of your post to something that accurately describes your problem (It's one of the rules of the forum). Then forum users can begin helping you. Thanks

    Re: Help!!!

I believe if you go to your first post of the thread and click 'Edit post' you should be able to change the title.

See my attached spreadsheet (also added it to your other post regarding a different matter) since the workbook solves both issues I think.

Formula for cell B4 on your Recipe worksheet would be:

    =VLOOKUP(A4,Sheet1!$A$1:$B$11,2,FALSE)

    Drag and copy down

    To mark solve...

    How?
    New quick method:
Select Thread Tools-> Mark thread as Solved. To undo, select Thread Tools-> Mark thread as Unsolved.

Or you can use this way:

How to mark a thread Solved
    Go to the first post
    Click edit
    Click Go Advanced
Just below the word Title you will see a dropdown with the word No prefix.
    Change to Solved
    Click Save

    Note:
You can also thank those who have helped you by clicking the small star icon located in the lower left corner of the post in which the help was given.
By doing so you can add to the reputation(s) of those who helped and shared their time in helping you.
I think people forget the word "THANK YOU!!!!" Do you still know it???

There is a little star ( ADD REPUTATION ) below those person who helped you. Click it to say your "PRIVATE APPRECIATION TO THEIR EFFORT ON THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS "

    Regards,
