Cool Cursor Jumping to Strange Location.

    Hi

Having spent a week working on a large spreadsheet, it has now developed a fault. With the sheet protected, if the cursor breaches the top of the spreadsheet, ie you are any where in row 1, and press the up arrow, the sheet jumps to row 472 (staying in the same Col), similarly, if you are any where in Col A and press left arrow, it jumps to Col EJW (staying in the same Row). This does not happen when the sheet is unprotected which suggests this maybe the seat of the problem but I cant see where.

The extent of my usage is to Col QN and Row 410. I do have a fair bit of code running on this sheet, but until today, it has behaved itself, and I have been through the code but can find nothing that would suggest such jumps.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

There are several possible causes for this problem.

If you have applied freeze pane then just remove the freeeze pane and re-apply it and check.
If it is a shared workbook then ensure that no user is connected with that workbook then remove the sharing and save the file and apply the sharing once again and check.

Check the above and let us know your feedback to proceed further.

    Thanks for that Sixthsense.

There is a 13 Row title section which is frozen. I have removed it and reapplied it but it still does the same movements.

There are no links to other workbooks - although there are 3 worksheets in this workbook. It has worked fine until today, and i have done nothing major to it today.

I don’t know if this is significant, but if I hit up arrow from A3, it jumps to A471, then hitting down arrow takes me back to A3. Its as if theres a region of cells from A1 to E JW471 defined somewhere. (sorry I said 472 in the first post, its 471)

Check whether the scroll lock is turned on?

I am not talking about external links I just wanted to get confirmed whether the file is accessed by many persons in single instance.

I dont know where the scroll lock lives, but Ive just checked the Advanced settings and both vertical and horizontal scrolls are enabled.

There will eventually be multiple users using this spreadsheet, but the network only allows one to have access at any one time. That said, right now, Im developing it and its only me whos got access.

Ive also just noticed, if youre in A1 and up or left arrow from there, you end up at EJW471.
